Acceptable use policy
The rules that keep the service safe and fast for everyone.
Draft for review. This document is not yet in effect and may change before launch.
This policy is part of our terms of service and applies to every PriceHQ service.
Not allowed
- Anything illegal in Australia, or that infringes someone else's copyright, trademarks or privacy.
- Child sexual abuse material, or content that promotes terrorism or violent extremism. We report these to the authorities.
- Malware, phishing pages, credential harvesting, or hosting stolen data.
- Spam: unsolicited bulk or commercial email, or email that breaks the Spam Act 2003. Mailing lists must be opt-in with a working unsubscribe link.
- Attacks on other systems: port scanning, brute-forcing, denial-of-service, or open proxies and relays.
- Cryptocurrency mining on shared hosting.
- Using shared hosting for file storage, backups of other systems, or file sharing unrelated to your website.
Fair use on shared hosting
- Each account has CPU, memory and process limits so one site can't slow down the others. A site that keeps hitting them may need a bigger plan or a VPS; we'll get in touch before changing anything.
- Outgoing email is limited per hour on each account to protect delivery. For newsletters or large volumes, use a dedicated mailing service.
- Plan limits (storage, websites, mailboxes, databases and traffic) are as listed for your plan.
Servers (VPS)
On unmanaged servers you control the software, so you're responsible for keeping it secure and patched. A compromised server that attacks others or sends spam will be isolated until it's fixed.
If something breaches this policy
We'll usually contact you first and ask you to fix it. If there's serious or ongoing harm, or the law requires it, we may suspend the service straight away and tell you why. Repeated or serious breaches may lead to cancellation.
Reporting abuse
Report abuse involving a PriceHQ service to hello@pricehq.tech with as much detail as you can.
