Email setup guide

Everything you need to get your business email working, step by step.

1. Add your mailboxes

Sign in to the client area and open Email. Choose an address (like jane@yourbusiness.com.au), pick the size and set a password. Repeat for each person.

Also there: forwarding and aliases (info@ to jane@), auto-replies for when you’re away, and what happens to mail sent to unknown addresses.

2. Point your domain

Your email works once your domain sends mail to us. There are two ways:

  1. Easiest: use our nameservers. Where you bought your domain, change its nameservers to ns1.pricehq.tech, ns2.pricehq.tech, ns3.pricehq.tech and ns4.pricehq.tech. We set up every record for you. (If your website is hosted somewhere else, use the second way.)
  2. Keep your DNS where it is and add the records shown on the Domain setup tab in your client area: a mail server (MX) record, a sender check (SPF), a signature (DKIM) and a policy (DMARC). Copy each value with the button next to it.

Then press Check my records. Each row turns green when it’s right. Changes usually show within an hour.

3. Sign in to webmail

Go to mail.pricehq.tech and sign in with your full email address and its password. PriceHQ Mail works in any browser, including on your phone.

4. Set up your devices

Most apps (Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail, Thunderbird, iPhone, Android) set themselves up when you enter your email address and password. If yours asks for server settings, use these:

UsernameYour full email address
PasswordThe mailbox’s password
Incoming server (IMAP)mail.pricehq.tech, port 993, SSL/TLS
Outgoing server (SMTP)mail.pricehq.tech, port 465, SSL/TLS, sign-in required
POP3 (if you prefer)mail.pricehq.tech, port 995, SSL/TLS

iPhone, iPad and Mac: in the client area’s Connect devices tab, download the profile for your mailbox and open it.
Gmail app: Add account → Other → IMAP, then use the settings above.
Outlook: enter your address; if it can’t find the settings, choose IMAP and use the settings above.

Forgot a password

The person who looks after your business’s email can set a new password: sign in to the client area, open Email, and choose Reset password next to the mailbox. If that’s you and you can’t sign in to the client area, use “Forgot password” on its sign-in page, or contact us.

Move your old email

Tick “Move my existing email” when you order, or ask us afterwards. We’ll ask for your old provider’s details, copy every folder across, then tell you when to switch your domain.

Troubleshooting

  • Can’t send: check the outgoing server is mail.pricehq.tech on port 465 with SSL, and that “sign-in required” is on.
  • Mail isn’t arriving: open Domain setup and press Check my records. The mail server (MX) record must be green.
  • Your mail lands in other people’s junk: make sure SPF and DKIM are green, and add the DMARC record.
  • Still stuck? Contact us: a person replies within one business day.
