This agreement adds to our Terms of Service for generic top-level domains, such as .com, .net, .org and the newer extensions we offer. For .au domains, also see the .au Domain Registrant Agreement. We register domains through an accredited registrar partner.
1. Registering a domain
- 1.1A domain is registered on a first-come, first-served basis. It isn't yours until the registry confirms the registration; we'll refund you if it can't be completed.
- 1.2You're the registrant (the legal holder) of the domain, not PriceHQ. We act on your instructions to register, renew, transfer and manage it.
- 1.3You confirm that registering and using the domain doesn't infringe anyone else's rights and isn't for an unlawful purpose.
2. Your details
- 2.1You must give accurate, complete registrant contact details and keep them up to date. Registries and ICANN require this, and a domain with false or out-of-date details can be suspended or cancelled.
- 2.2You may be asked to verify your email address after registering or changing details. If you don't verify it within the time allowed, the domain may be suspended until you do.
- 2.3Some contact details may be published in public registration records (WHOIS/RDAP). Where the registry allows, we offer privacy that hides personal details. See our Privacy Policy.
3. Rules that apply
- 3.1Each domain is subject to the policies of its registry and, for generic domains, of ICANN, including the ICANN Registrants' Benefits and Responsibilities. These policies may change, and we must follow them.
- 3.2Disputes about who should hold a domain are decided under the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) or similar registry policies, not by us. We'll follow decisions made under them.
- 3.3The registry, ICANN or a court may require us to suspend, transfer or cancel a domain. We'll tell you where we can.
4. Renewals and expiry
- 4.1Domains are registered for the number of years you choose and renew automatically unless you turn auto-renew off in the client area. We'll send renewal reminders by email before expiry.
- 4.2If a domain expires, it stops working. Most registries allow a grace period in which you can still renew it, sometimes for an extra restoration fee. After that it may be released for anyone to register.
- 4.3Keeping your payment details current so renewals succeed is your responsibility.
5. Fees and refunds
- 5.1Prices are as shown when you order. Registrations, renewals and transfers are passed to the registry as soon as you pay, so they usually can't be refunded once processed. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
- 5.2Registry price changes can affect renewal prices. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice of a renewal price increase.
6. Managing your domain
- 6.1You can change nameservers, DNS, contact details and the transfer lock, and get your transfer (auth) code, in the client area.
- 6.2You can move a domain to another registrar under our Domain Transfer Policy.
7. Our role and liability
- 7.1We do our best to register and renew domains on time, but we rely on registries and our registrar partner. Our liability is limited as set out in our Terms of Service, which never limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
- 7.2We may suspend a domain used for abuse, such as phishing or malware, under our Acceptable Use Policy.
